Sergey Levitin violin

You will be delighted to hear that Sophia Lisovskaya will be returning to give another breath-taking recital, bringing with her the violinist Sergey Levitin. He is Co-Concert Master for the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House.

Sophia Lisovskaya was born in Moscow into a family of professional musicians. Having shown early promise she gave her first public performance at the age of six in Moscow’s Museum of Fine Art, one of Sviatoslav Richter’s favourite venues, and has since continued to follow the grand tradition of the old Russian School with a lineage of professors leading directly back to the great figures of Neuhaus, Sofronitsky and Scriabin.

. . . . I do hope you like the look of the Programme as much we do!

I decided to start with Sonetto as it was a form of opera in old days and I will recite the whole poem on the day,

Petrarch was an extraordinary character, poet and humanist.

Clair de lune is to empsase the year of Debussy and a wonderful piece of music.

Enjoy a night of Tango Nuevo and musical virtuosity with Carismático.

Carismático is the brainchild of Karen Street who is known as one of the UK’s leading accordionists. This led Karen to create her ideal Tango band to perform his brilliant, emotionally charged compositions. She has added to the group’s repertoire with arrangements of classic Astor Piazzolla and her own creative and nuanced compositions.
