Chipping Sodbury Music Society's 2020-21 Season
This season of excellent concerts has been in the planning for some time, in the hope that they will take place. We will place updates on this website.
Due to the continuing uncertainty arising from the coronavirus pandemic the Committee decided to cancel the whole of our 2020-21 Season. We will review the situation in the Spring of 2021 in the hope of presenting a full season for 2021-22.
Helen Reid - Piano
Tuesday 13th October 2020 - 7:30pm
Former BBC Young Musician keyboard finalist Helen Reid presents Visions of Night - solo piano music inspired by night, including works by Poulenc, Schumann, Britten and Debussy.
Helen gives recitals all around England and in Europe.

Lauren Scott - Harp
Tuesday 10th November 2020 - 7:30pm
Her passion for the lever harp inspires her interpretations of atmospheric works by 20th century composere ranging from John Cage and Peter Maxwell Davies to Lennon and McCartney, as well as her own ambient compositions. A recipient PRS (Performing Rights Society) Foundation Women Make Music scheme, her compositions have received acclaim with recent performances at the World Harp Congress and Australia.

Tuesday 8th December 2020 - 7:30pm
Four Musicians from the Netherlands, Spain and Poland present a versatile repertoire consisting of original saxaphone compositions as well as their own arrangements of string quartets and orchestral music. Ebonit will show a new and fresh light at the works of well-known composers like Beethoven and Mendelssohn, through the saxaphone's flexibility and palette of colours.

Tuesday 9th February 2021 - 7:30pm
Supported by the Countess of Munster Musical Trust, the dynamic and versatile cellist Leo Popplewell is joined by renowned pianist and Lieder-interpreter Michael Pandya in a passionate exploration of the cello as a human voice, culminating in Schumann's mighty "Dichterliebe".

South Gloucestershire Music Hub

Chipping Sodbury Baptist Church, High Street, Chipping Sodbury. BS37 6AH
The Hub offers a wealth of inspirational music-making activities to children and young people in this area. A not-to-be missed performance by various groups from the Hub.

Winners of the Beethoven Prize at the 2nd International Beethoven Chamber Music Competition, the Fitzroy Quartet formed at the Royal Academy of Music in 2014. They are proud participants in the Pro Quartet European Chamber Music Academy and perform regularly in the UK and abroad.
